I believe our pupils need more than a theoritical course with 10/20 minutes practice.
How can it be possible for them to reuse knowledge if they are not given the right time and the right practice? They need to process that knowledge through controlled activities / less controlled activities before they are exposed to research activities.
I am trying less controlled activities with my MS4 pupils in pronunciation and phonetics. I am exposing them to using dictionaries while working in groups. This is giving very good results. Though it is time consuming for me, it is fruitful for the learners who are gaining more and more autonomy.
