Comparatives & Superlatives of Adjectives. Empty
PostSubject: Comparatives & Superlatives of Adjectives.   Comparatives & Superlatives of Adjectives. EmptyFri Mar 13, 2009 7:22 pm

Salam!

Every year, the pps ask me the same question about adjectives:
"How can we know if the adjective is long or short?"

Sometimes an adjectives can undergo both rules: of long and short adjectives.

eg. handsome handsomer or more handsome.
Both are correct and the adj. contains two syllables.

For this, I felt obliged to make a little research, last year, to give the pps a clear idea about this point and to make them afford a reference for the years to come.

Here is the link:

Wish you'll find it useful and ready to accept any comment.

Salam!

Comparatives & Superlatives of Adjectives. Empty
PostSubject: Thanks.   Comparatives & Superlatives of Adjectives. EmptySat Mar 14, 2009 11:10 pm

I would like to thank you on behalf of the pupils. What you are doing is valuable. Our pupils need to compare things, thus they are lucky to learn the positive/comparative/superlative this way. I mean they'll have to process the language smoothly.
The way you prepared the worksheet is good and can be used for a long term learning.
Do multiply activities so as to help pupils use it in different contexts. It will allow them gain more competencies and self confidence.

Well done

Salam.
