| In the frame of in service training sessions, many teachers get the opportunity to see colleagues at work. These performances may be unique sources of learning and acquiring teaching tips that may be so valuable for our professional development. Many teachers get bored of these demonstration lessons and don't like them at all. Of course, they are wrong. Instead of carrying such judgment, they should change the strategy and use the best to profit from this unique chance of attending a teacher at work.
Observing a teacher at work is a great privilege provided that this privilege allows you to learn something in:
Methodology Class Management Elaboration of a preparation sheet Be aware of the learners ' needs Grouping learners Error tackling Using the adequate classroom language Opting for the right type of assessment Thinking about the adequate resources and aids. Correcting learners Giving feedback To observe and remark these, we need to get entirely involved and ready.
What is this kind of observation meant for? You can observe and take notes of either the positive side and the negative ones of the lesson. The positive sides may be used while the negative can be avoided or corrected if necessary.
Try this way, you may appreciate it and surely gain more proficiency. You can use this document or make yours:
